Volunteering at Kirstenbosch

Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens uses volunteers in 24 different areas, ranging from potting up some plants to pollinating others; teaching school children environmental education to introducing adult visitors to the wonders of the Cape Floral Kingdom; from giving guided tours of the Garden to developing new theme walks; from helping in our libraries to working on the Information Desks.
Our volunteers come from all walks of life and have a shared love of the Gardens and a willingness to to be part of the team that keeps Kirstenbosch on the map. They are a dynamic group of people with a wide variety of skills. We endeavour to find a niche to suit all would - be volunteers, and try to ensure that the time they spend here is especially rewarding
